VCOA Midsommar hits the "Mother Road" -- Route 66 -- to Tulsa, Oklahoma. This year's MidAmerica Premier Annual Volvo Enthusiast Gathering features the theme Volvo Kicks on Route 66.
The two-day event celebrates all things Volvo surrounded by the lore of the open road. Explore the adventure that was for half a century America's main thoroughfare from Chicago to Los Angeles. Built largely from portions of old wagon trails, the 2-lane highway zigzagged through eight states: south from Illinois and slicing southwest through Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and finally, into California.
In 2009, there can be no better way to share you enthusiasm for our beloved Swedes than immersed in the history and nostalgia that have enshrined Route 66 as America's Highway.
