2008 VCOA Midsommar Best Ever!

Was it the best ever because of the:

  • Swedish heritage festival venue;
  • picturesque setting of beautiful Lindsborg;
  • wonderful weather;
  • car show's beautiful shaded park setting;
  • enthusiastic welcome for our Swedish beauties;
  • great smörgåsbord at Bethany College;
  • authentic Swedish folk performances;
  • learning to do the frog dance;
  • shopping for that perfect Swedish-themed souvenir;
  • lingonberries on the Swedish pancakes;
  • scenic vistas of the challenging rally course?
All of these things but most importantly it was getting to share the experience with a wonderful group of Volvo folks! Our VCOA gatherings are truly special events. Of course it's the cars, but even more so, the people. This year was no exception!

I have received a number of requests for the contact information of this year's event registrants. While I would like to comply, VCOA confidentiality policy does not permit distribution of this information. The Club takes this obligation very seriously and we must comply.

However, Bob Foos recommended a great solution. This blog is the result. It has been established as a mechanism for establishing/maintaining contact and sharing information about VCOA Midsommar. In the next few days, all 2008 event registrants will receive details about how to become an "author" on this blog. This will enable the posting of messages, items, pictures, etc. of interest to Midsommar participants. The blog will also serve as a central location for updates of interest to Volvophiles and upcoming developments regarding future Midsommar events.

Please contribute to this Midsommar specific site. Visit periodically (every couple of weeks) to check up on information of interest regarding our club and Volvo related developments.

Thanks so much for contributing to the success of 2008 VCOA Midsommar. 2009 will be our fifth event. Can that be possible? I'm looking forward to our gathering already. Let's make it the BEST EVENT EVER!

Scott Peper
