Activity Schedule Update

The 2009 Midsommar venues and activity schedule has been finalized. The event will utilize three distinctive venues:

• Jackie Cooper Imports (Saturday afternoon)
• Avery Park (Saturday evening)
• Downtown Tulsa (Sunday morning).

The event will kick off at noon on Saturday, June 20, with an Okie Barbeque Lunch at Jackie Cooper Imports, 9393 S. Memorial Drive, Tulsa, Oklahoma. The luncheon will be followed by a very informative High Tech Open-Shop Demonstration by Jackie Cooper professional service technicians. A very interesting Route 66 Heritage presentation will follow. The afternoon's festivities will conclude with the ever popular VCOA Team Trivia Challenge 2009 Edition.

Midsommar activities will then transfer to Avery Centennial Park, 11th Street Bridge Overlook at the northeast corner of Riverside and Southwest Boulevard. At 5:15pm, car placement will begin for a first-ever Midsommar evening 66 Sunset Car Show. Avery Park features including a panoramic overlook of historic Route 66 and the original 11th Street Bridge. The vista combined with some special 66-themed lighting is the perfect setting for a complete evening's program.

The Crusin' 66 Road Rally will begin at 9:00 Sunday morning. The 2009 Midsommar road rally will differ from previous formats and includes some very unique challenges for all participants. Details will be provided during the Midsommar registration process.
